Payment of speeding fines.

These fines can be paid at any Spanish Post Office or branch of Santander (in Spain) For payment over the internet:

Go to www.dgt.es;   In the large yellow rectangular box on right click on first option – Pago de multas en internet;  

Next screen shows 5 icons. Below top left icon showing small picture of a policeman click on Mas Info which produces another screen with same but a larger picture;  

Click on 1st item to right of picture – Pago de Multas;  

On next screen click on Pago de multas en internet;

On next screen click on option a) in bottom half of screen – Pago de multas (sin certificado digital ni DNTe);   Next screen brings up a form in Spanish but click – welcome – at top right to convert it to English and then fill in form;

For Document type best use your Passport and passport number in the 2 boxes;

Fill in rest of form. The record number is the number at the top right of formal notice without dashes or punctuation;

Insert full fine and then click – continue. Next page gives a 30, or 50% reduction if your a paying in the relevant time periods;

Then enter your credit card details and continue to payment: and   You have now paid and will be offered a receipt by e mail.

Do not respond to any e mail from anyone asking for help due to a stolen bag while attending a conference in Madrid. IT IS A SCAM.

There has been a run of robberies in the car parks of local stores, Eroski, Lidl’s and others.

In every case the particulars are the same.

While a shopper is loading their car, they are approached and distracted by one person while another steals their bag from their shoulder or from inside their car.

Avoid this happening to you. 

Keep your handbag or man bag close or hidden if possible at all times. (One idea is to hide your bag inside your shopping bag under items).

When taking the shopping to your car first put the your handbag/manbag out of reach/sight inside the car and re lock the car. 

Then load the shopping to the rear without unlocking the whole car.

Mistrust – walk away from anyone attempting to engage you in conversation in the car park. 

It is better to be rude than be robbed.

Blood Donors

If you were living in the UK at any time between 1986 and 1998 you will not be able to donate blood in Spain. This is due to continuing concerns over the incubation period for any effects arising from Mad Cow disease (Bovine spongiform encephalopathy, BSE) in the UK. 

The situation is kept under ongoing review.

Recycle Your Used Olive/Cooking Oil

New receptacles have been provided to take used Olive and Cooking oil for recycling.

These can be found:

• Opposite the Ayuntamiento (Algarrobo)
• Opposite the Park, beside M&S (Algarrobo)
• Frederico Garcia Lorca Park (Trayamar)

Containers can be provided at the Office of Sport and Culture.
